Marc Lowenstein is an internationally recognized conductor, composer, vocalist, and educator whose work spans opera, orchestral music, jazz, and contemporary performance. He is the founding Music Director of The Industry, Los Angeles’ acclaimed experimental opera company, and has collaborated extensively with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York City Opera, and leading contemporary music organizations throughout the United States.
A longtime member of the faculty at the Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts, Marc holds the Roy E. Disney Family Chair in Music Composition. His work as a conductor, composer, and performer has been praised by The New York Times, The New Yorker, and the Los Angeles Times.
